Questions – Adults
1) Jesus shows intentional love toward Judas and Peter. What does this reveal about the nature and limits of Christian love? Contrast this with the motives of other religions.
2) Love is “despite, not because.” Where do you see yourself only loving those who are easy to love? What would it look like to shift toward Christlike love in those situations?
3) Jesus sets a higher standard: “love as I have loved you.” How does this differ from “love your neighbor as yourself”? Where does this become most difficult in your life?
4) Refusing to love others is a form of betraying Christ. Do you agree with that statement?
5) Consider someone in your life who is difficult to love or has hurt you. What concrete steps would it take to move from resentment to active love, and what obstacles stand in the way?

1) Think about a time someone hurt, embarrassed, or betrayed you. How did you respond, and how does that compare to how Jesus Christ responded to betrayal?
2) Why do you think it’s harder to love people who are “unlovable” than people you naturally get along with? What makes it so challenging?
3) The sermon says real love shows most under pressure. What does that look like in school, sports, or friendships?
4) How can you tell the difference between fake kindness and genuine Christlike love in your own actions?
5) If “we love because He first loved us,” what are some practical ways to stay aware of God’s love so it actually changes how you treat others?
