[1] For international students: Have you ever been to a Thanksgiving Day event? What was your impression the very first time that you attended such an event?
[2] Do you believe the Bible teaches us to be thankful? Is that always easy? How do you understand Paul’s words: “Give thanks in everything, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thes. 5:18)
[3] Do you think often about what Jesus has done for you? Who do you resemble more, the nine lepers who did not thank Jesus, or the one Samaritan who returned to thank Him?
[4] If you could write a conclusion to the story of the grateful Samaritan, what would be the end of the story? What do you think he did with the rest of his life?
[5] Are you thankful that you can know you are going to heaven; that you don’t have to wait until you get to the “entrance gate”? Think about this: “I will give thanks to You because You have answered me and have become my salvation.” (Ps. 118:21)
[6] Did you understand how the grateful Samaritan is a model of how you can become a follower of Christ? If you have time, discuss this “model” using the following key words: listening, believing, seeking, having faith, and obeying.
