[1] The song “Good, good Father” tells us, “It’s who He (God) is.” Then it says about us: “I’m loved by You, it’s who I am.” Explain how our spiritual identity can be found in the fact that God (the Heavenly Father) loves us.
[2] In what ways did the younger brother show that he was lost? Compare this to “lostness” in our world today.
[3] The prodigal son reached a breaking point which led him to repentance. How do you explain repentance? Perhaps someone could share a “breaking point” (or significant moment) in their life which led them to the Christian faith.
[4] Name some things the father did which proved his love for his wayward son? What does this teach us about God’s love for sinners, for us? Do you believe God loved you so much that He sent His Son to die on a cross for you?
