Matthew 7:21-29 Discussion Questions

Q. Can you think of a time that you or some one you knew had a wrong perspective on something, like a funny circus mirror?

Q. “Therefore whoever acknowledges Me before men, I will also acknowledge him before My Father who is in heaven.” – Matthew 10:32

What are ways we can we Acknowledge Jesus before men?

Q. In our western christian culture today, how can we tell if some ones confession is genuine ?

Matthew 7:20 So then, you will recognize them by their fruit. 21 Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.

Q. What is the difference between knowing information about Jesus versus Knowing Him as your King and having a relationship with Him?

23 Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you. Get away from Me, you workers of lawlessness!’

Q. Discuss the two types of foundations Jesus talks about.

24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

26 Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.

Q. Just as wind strengthens a trees roots, storms can strengthen us. Share a personal story of a storm you went through and how your Faith in Jesus, the Rock, helped you through the storm.

Or share a story how you were building on sand and you faced a storm and great was your fall, but because of that experience you turned to Jesus, the Rock.

Q. Read these scriptures together then pray together that God would build you up on the solid Rock or Jesus our Savior.

19 So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household. 20 You have been built on the foundation made up of the emissaries and prophets, with Messiah Yeshua Himself being the cornerstone. 21 In Him the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple for the Lord. 22 In Him, you also are being built together into God’s dwelling place in the Ruach.

4 As you come to Him, a living stone rejected by men but chosen by God and precious, 5 you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house…

Psalms 127:1 Unless the Lord builds the house the builders labor in vain.
